Set Phasers to Fun: Hiya Toys Ventures into Star Trek Franchise with New Line of Figures

Set Phasers to Fun: Hiya Toys Ventures into Star Trek Franchise with New Line of Figures

Shanghai’s Hiya Toys, known for their Warner Brothers toy lines, revealed on Twitter today that they’re expanding to the Star Trek Franchise with a new line of figures. This new line will be heading to the shelves to sit amongst their already successful lines of Aliens, Predator, and RoboCop figures.

This news may come as a surprise to some as Hiya Toys have made a name for themselves since 2010 delivering Warner Brothers properties to retail shelves. However Star Trek is owned by Paramount, making this the second mega network to work with Hiya Toys. Not much is known about this deal or the incoming toy line or which of many series they may be working on figures for, however one major hint came out today with the tweet. Accompanying the image Hiya Toys wrote:

“Space, the final frontier

These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise,

Its five-year mission to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and civilizations,

To bravely go where no man has gone before.”

With this newest venture Hiya Toys will be joining the likes of Playmates, Super7, Diamond Select, McFarlane and many more before in producing figures for this beloved franchise. Geeks galaxy wide are celebrating the news, and if you listen closely you might even hear the distant sounds of phaser fire shooting into the night sky.

Rev Your Engines! The Biker Mice are Back and Better Than Ever

Get Ready for a Wild Ride!

The renowned studio, Nacelle Company, known for its successful Netflix shows such as “The Toys That Made Us” and “The Movies That Made Us”, has taken hold of the rights to the timeless animated series “Biker Mice From Mars”. With big plans in store, Nacelle is eager to bring back the adventurous trio to fans both old and new. In this piece, we delve deeper into the Biker Mice from Mars and their history, as well as what the future holds for the property with Nacelle at the wheel.

The Biker Mice: A Look Back

Debuting in 1993, from the mind of Rick Ungar, the Biker Mice from Mars instantly won over fans with their blend of humor, action, adventure, and music. The series was created as a response to the popularity of other anthropomorphic animal characters like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time the main characters were anthropomorphic mice: Throttle (voiced by Rob Paulsen), Modo (voiced by Dorian Harewood), and Vinnie (voiced by Ian Ziering), who escaped a war on their home planet Mars before arriving to defend the Earth from the same evil that destroyed their homeland. These survivors turned heroic vigilantes, (who were inseparable from their motorcycles and toys), quickly took to plotting a way to stop the evil schemes of the villainous Lawrence Limburger (voiced by W. Morgan Sheppard) who was actually a Plutarkian disguised as a human. The show quickly became a fan favorite and ran for three seasons with 65 episodes released.

The Future is Looking Furry

With Nacelle now in possession of the property, the future of the Biker Mice from Mars is looking bright. The company is in the process of developing a re-imagined animated series and a brand new toyline. CEO Brian Volk-Weiss revealed the news at comicbook.com, stating: “Biker Mice is the perfect way to start 2023 off with a Mars-based bang! And they’ll fit in, with their unique, creative brilliance, with the rest of brands we’ve recently acquired.”

What to Expect from the Re-Imagined Animated Series

Although it’s still too early to predict what the new animated series will entail, Nacelle Company’s reputation for producing high-quality, well-received shows gives us confidence that the Biker Mice from Mars will receive the same level of care and attention to detail.

New Adventures Await with the Biker Mice from Mars Toyline

Alongside the re-imagined animated series, Nacelle is also creating a new toyline for the Biker Mice from Mars. The only glimpse we have been able to acquire is that of some boxes with the character names printed on their tops, posted recently on the Nacelle Toy Divisions’ Instagram account @toysnacelle.

The Nacelle Company Introduces The Expanse Collectibles: A Breakthrough in the Toy Industry

The Nacelle Company is the new kid on the block, and they’re about to make a big impact in the toy industry once again with their latest project. This time, they’re taking a different approach by producing figures from the fan-favorite Amazon original series, “The Expanse.” With six seasons of intense sci-fi drama, this is a franchise that fans have been eagerly awaiting to see as collectibles.

“The Expanse” Takes Over the Toy Industry

“The Expanse” is a space opera that takes cues from popular shows like “Firefly” and “Battlestar Galactica.” The show follows a diverse cast of 24th-century humans as they navigate their way through the challenges of life aboard their vessel, the Rocinante. With its well-developed characters and action-packed storyline, it’s no wonder that fans are eager to get their hands on the figures of their favorite characters.

First Wave of Figures Includes Key Characters

The Nacelle Company has decided to release the first wave of figures, which will include key characters such as Chrisjen Avasarala (played by Shohreh Aghdashloo), Camina Drummer (played by Cara Gee), James Holden (played by Steven Strait), Amos Burton (played by Wes Chatham), Bobbie Draper (played by Frankie Adams), and Naomi Nagata (played by Dominique Tipper). These figures are sure to be a hit among fans, and it’s just the beginning of what’s in store for this release.

We spoke with CEO Brian Volk-Weiss about the project and he revealed to us, that they plan on releasing these figures as two-packs. As to which characters they’ll be releasing in wave one is still a tightly kept secret, however, rest assured, we’ll be sure to keep you posted as this line moves closer to release.

A Break from the “Retro Touch”

This is the first line of figures from The Nacelle Company that won’t require the “Retro Touch.” Instead, they are focusing on bringing the world of “The Expanse” to life in a new and exciting way. I know fans are eager to see what Nacelle has in store for this release and how they plan to differentiate themselves from their previous projects. I can safely say it’s gonna be big!
