NECA re-issues the Ultra-Deluxe Xenomorph Queen from the Alien franchise

NECA re-issues the Ultra-Deluxe Xenomorph Queen from the Alien franchise

The Xenomorph Queen from NECA is back!

Just in time for Mothers Day, the fan-favorite Xenomorph Queen from the film Aliens, has made it’s return to the market. Originally released in 1999 this 15″ X 30″ 7-inch scale figure with 30 points of articulation has returned to popular retailers with a new pre-order window and is being sold for $124.99 over on our affiliate Entertainment Earth.

When does it ship?

Scheduled for release October 2023, this is a great time to pick up this figure if you are new to collecting or missed out in the past.

We’ve heard from several friends in the community over the last week who say they have been patiently waiting for this moment for a few years now and are super excited to finally get there chance to buy this figure.

DONT GET SCAMMED, shop around!

Even today as I write this article, its been just over a week since the first announcement of the re-issue, and the eBay re-sellers haven’t budged an inch on their prices on past releases. Some figures are being sold for upwards of $500 and none were lower than $267 that we could find. Even with the hefty markup on the figure, there is also no guarantee you wont be paying outrageously marked up shipping rates.

Luckily for all of us, NECA has taken the time to dust off the old molds, printed up some fresh boxes and started the process to bring this figure back, making it affordable and accessible for more of us in the collecting community.

What’s in the box?

This particular xenomorph Queen boasts 30 points of articulation – including a spectacular poseable tail, 2 interchangeable inner mouths, and a display stand. She is 15-inches tall and 30-inches long, making her completely in scale with the Alien 7-inch action figure line from NECA, some of which can be found here at our affiliate link.

Our observations and take-away:

From what we’ve been able to gather so far, there are no significant changes to the figure or packaging and looks to be a standard re-issue. However, this isn’t the first re-issue of the figure since it was first launched nearly 25 years ago. There have been several re-issues as well as re-branded repaints before such as the Alien Resurrection, or Aliens Genocide versions that have been released throughout the years.

Casey Jones as Phantom of the Opera Finally Released

Casey Jones as Phantom of the Opera Finally Released

NECA and Target’s Month Long Haul-a-thon Comes to a Close with Casey Jones as Phantom of the Opera release

Casey Jones as Phantom of the Opera is one of the most anticipated releases for us here at Toy News Daily. While it may not be the final figure released in this line, it is the final figure that has been announced. While we patiently wait for Donatello as the Invisible Man figure to be released, we certainly didn’t expect Casey Jones to beat him to the shelves. If you want to pick one up for yourself you can order through Haul-a-thon and it’s priced at $36.99. Or you can head to your nearest Target that participates in the Haul-a-thon sale and you can pick it up there. I’m going to keep this blog short and sweet because I’ll be heading to Target myself as soon as this blog posts. The TMNT x Universal Monsters crossover series is a line that must be completed.

I posted about the line a few weeks back when the first images of this figure popped up so if you want to read a little more about this series of figures check out that article posted below.

Check out these images of the figure and packaging we got from Costumes.com

NECA NEWS: First Look at Latest TMNT x Universal Monsters Crossover Figures

NECA NEWS: First Look at Latest TMNT x Universal Monsters Crossover Figures

First Look at The Invisible Man, The Phantom and Box-Art

In NECA NEWS, action figure designer James Groman of James Groman Design LLC took to social media this morning with some sneak peak pictures of some test samples he received from NECA. The unreleased figures are from the TMNT/Universal Monsters line in which he has been responsible for designing. The images shared shows Donatello as The Invisible Man as well as Casey Jones as The Phantom. In the post Groman also shouted out Tony Cipriano and Paul Harding as the sculptors behind the figures. He also made sure to give credit to Daniel Horne as the cover artist. NECA’s Senior Graphic Designer Chris Raimo even chimed into the comments recounting his role on this project: “I’m the packaging designer on these, your concepts are incredible and it’s been such an honor to work on them!

With so many talented individuals on this team, it’s no surprise how well these figures turned out and in turn have been received by fans, us included. We cant wait to add these figures to the existing lineup which include: Splinter as “Van Helsing,” April O’Neil as “The Bride of Frankenstein,” Michelangelo as “The Mummy,” Leonardo as “The Hunchback,” and Raphael as “Frankenstein’s Monster.”

The TMNT/Universal Monsters line is one of our absolutely favorite ongoing lines and we cant wait to see what more comes out in the future. Now that they’ve revealed all the good guys we can only imagine what they might produce for the other side. Will we get a Shredder or a Foot Soldier, maybe even a Bebop and Rocksteady? Only time will tell. But if you want to grab any of these figures a few of them are still up for preorder, and a couple in-stock at our affiliate Entertainment Earth. Preorders have yet to start for Casey Jones but we’ll be sure to update you all as soon as we know more.
