Toy News Daily Q2 Company Updates

Toy News Daily Q2 Company Updates

Greetings from the Editor

Thank you for returning to Toy News Daily. We have recently taken a break to reassess the overall direction of our publication, but I wanted to do a quick breakdown of where we are at.

Discovering Who We Are

As a small business run in my spare time outside of my day job and family commitments, and with no employees and very little income being generated, providing the best coverage of action figure news has been a challenge. While most of our offerings, such as our blog and newsletter, are free to users, they do require a significant amount of time and effort to produce and maintain. Late last year we also launched the magazine, Toy News Quarterly, as a means to generate enough revenue to support the business without needing additional income. However we still have a long ways to go in that regard.

Unfortunately, life has thrown some curveballs our way this year, and we are working hard to complete Issue 2 of Toy News Quarterly, which will be available in the next few weeks, (fingers crossed).

Moving into Video

As part of the ongoing assessment of where Toy News Daily is heading, we are looking to expand our content offerings to include more video content, such as reels, shorts, and eventually longer documentaries and interviews that go behind the scenes of the toy industry. We are currently in the process of figuring out how to do this without compromising the quality of our existing content.

What to expect as of now:

Social Media

We are continuing to put out (almost) daily updates on figure releases through our Instagram feed. This channel truly is the bedrock of our organization and growing our audience there is of utmost importance to us. We are also now on Twitter, Facebook, and Reddit, although while we are trying to be more engaged on these other platforms, without a dedicated social media employee it can be challenging to adapt each news post to distribute on each platform.

Weekly Newsletter

After some time off, our Free Weekly Newsletter, which you can join through our website, is back in full swing. You can look forward to its release every Saturday afternoon where we do a quick recap of the biggest action figure related news developments from the week prior. Next week’s edition will be a special Star Wars-themed newsletter that will cover all the recent news pertaining to May the 4th releases.

Blog/Articles

While we are going to be occasionally dropping new articles here on our news feed, this is going to be the most challenging feature to continue and grow without another writer on-board. For now, they may be a bit sporadic but again we want to keep the momentum here as its the best way to dive deep into releases and provide a better picture of the releases we are most excited about.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to bringing you more exciting and informative content in the future.
